Malaysia Covid-19 Vol.2 is a series that examines the situation of desolation row moment during the Movement Control Order (MCO) implement by the Malaysia government on March 18, 2020. When the news was widespread, foreign tourists started to leave Malaysia, and panic buying by local people made the early situation uncontrolled. It is the sense of documenting and curiosity drew me to the series. Either the MCO have been experienced firsthand or through a news report, documenting the visual image of this pandemic hit this country was important to me.
The scenes in this collection take place at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
For this series, I used a variety of cameras - an Olympus Az-Zoom, Canon EOS 88 SLR film camera, and a smartphone camera.
‘Malaysia Covid-19’ is an ongoing series developed from the first day of MCO in Malaysia since March 18, 2020.
